Eight steps to a great product

This is our design process we go through when we’re working with you. From your initial consultation with us, through to delivery of your finished product or component, our proven process ensures your product meets or exceeds your expectations.

1. Meet

We’ll meet up to discuss your needs, usually in person at our premises in Lower Hutt. If you are located in the Wellington area, we can go off site to meet you if required.

If you’re outside of Wellington, we can meet via Skype. We have video conferencing set up in our boardroom, proving a highly suitable option for our international clients.

2. Imagine

Let your imagination run wild.

Tell us all about your product or component requirements. How does it need to look or function, or be presented and packaged? How many do you need produced? What’s your budget?

You don’t need to have all the answers or be the expert here. Tell us the parameters you’re working with and we’ll work out the rest, keeping you fully informed as we go.

3. Design

There are likely to be a number of product options developed during the design stage. This is to address any manufacturing or functional challenges, or to offer potential design solutions to keep costs within your budget.

We’ll discuss the different options with you, along with the reasons for these, in order for you to make an informed decision on the best design solution for your product.

4. Sign off best solution

Our design and engineering team is getting closer to turning your idea into a viable, cost effective product.

You’ll see your design come to life in 2D or 3D. The final refinements can be considered and implemented before the manufacturing begins.

Your final design is approved when you are 100% satisfied your requirements have been met.

5. Create a prototype

Your design concept is now about to come to life in the form of a prototype.

One prototype will be created and thoroughly checked before production begins.

6. Test and evaluate

We will ensure your product meets all requirements by carrying out extensive testing.

We’re currently in the process of getting ISO 9001 accreditation, taking our process and procedures of quality checking to the highest level.

7. Manufacture

Your components or products are manufactured in-house by our specialist teams operating the most modern engineering equipment in our industry.

All production requirements are taken care of in-house, including premium powder coating finishes if required.

8. Deliver

Assembly, packaging and transport is managed in-house.

We will come up with the packaging solution to meet your product’s requirements and deliver your finished products anywhere within New Zealand or the world.

We can assist you with the design of packaging media – including pallets, crates, boxes and transportation solutions.

This completes our five-star engineering and service package.
